BELL MEDIA’S MUCHFACT ANNOUNCES FUND RECIPIENTS FOR JULY 24, 2014 MUSIC COMMITTEE
TORONTO (July 25, 2014) –Bell Media’s MuchFACT (A Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent) announced today the 43 fund recipients from the July 24, 2014 music committee meeting. With more than 281 applications considered, a total of $644,481 was awarded to Canadian musicians in the following categories: Music Content Package, Music Videos, Online Music Video/Project, and Digital Tools.
MuchFACT-supported music videos continue to impress internationally. Last month, Kevin Drew released his MuchFACT-funded video “You In Your Were”. The video, which features appearances by Feist and Zach Galifianakis, has garnered more than 170,000 views on Funny or Die. Toronto-based success story Majid Jordan, known for their collaboration with Drake on the hit “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, which took home the International Video of the Year by a Canadian at THE 2014 MUCH MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS, racked up more than 220,000 views on YouTube in two weeks of release of their most recent hit, “A Place Like This.” Complex Magazine wrote about the video here. Also, gaining views on YouTube are electronic music duo Zeds Dead who have amassed over 270,000 views on the site with their MuchFACT funded clip “Lost You.”
